Jérôme Gemander
Hounds and Thieves
In late 2009 Robert Zahn (producer and production manager) and Jérôme Gemander (screenwriter and director) shot HOUNDS AND THIEVES, a short comedy about the never-ending carousel of love and the adventures of an exceptional friendship mixed with cartoon-like dramaturgy and references to „The Little Rascals“. HOUNDS AND THIEVES tells the story of Phil who has fallen in love with a girl, Katinka, but lacks the courage to talk to her. Making things even worse for the clumsy fellow is that Katinka earns her living as a pickpocket. His friends Moko, Lina, Penelope and Sylvester decide to help him. After a first failed attempt, where everything that could’ve go wrong went wrong, Moko, sly as always, hatches a plan to finally get Phil his date, a plan that needs the special abilities of all four friends. The music was written by Gankino-Circus guitarist Ralf Wieland. The short film was produced by Zauberhaus Lichtspiele GbR.
